Ian Wright described Tottenham as “frightening” after they produced a stunning display at Stoke to keep their title hopes alive.

Spurs thrashed Mark Hughes’ team 4-0 at the Britannia Stadium to narrow the gap on leaders Leicester to five points with four matches of the campaign remaining.

Two goals apiece from Harry Kane and Dele Alli demonstrated that the north Londoners will not give up in their bid to win the English top flight for the first time in 55 years.

They ripped Stoke apart with a sensational display under pressure, as they knew that failure to take all three points would almost certainly mean the end of their Premier League title hopes.

Arsenal legend was among those who took to Twitter to pay tribute to Tottenham’s excellence as they ran amok in the second half.

Spurs now have 68 points, while Leicester have 73 points, although Mauricio Pochettino’s side have a far superior goal difference.

Moreover, Leicester could be without ace striker Jamie Vardy for two of their final four matches of the season after he was slapped with an improper conduct charge by the Football Association on Monday evening.

In other Tottenham news, the Londoners have been given a major transfer boost ahead of the summer window.
