Jamie Carragher had a dig at Raymond Verheijen on Twitter after the fitness guru praised Jurgen Klopp’s appearance on Monday Night Football.

The Liverpool manager joined Carragher on the popular Sky Sports show and discussed the ins and outs of his footballing approach and Verheijen praised him on Twitter.

Carragher replied to the Dutchman’s by sarcastically questioning on Twitter whether he was now “mates” with the Liverpool manager after questioning him on the social media site.

Verheijen has openly criticised Klopp’s training methods in the past, claiming the German has a disregard for injuries in the long-term due to his intense training philosophy.

Klopp responded to the criticism in a press conference when he made reference to the Dutchman and joked that his methods would be questioned again by “some Dutch guy on Twitter.”

The 44 year-old is known for his outspoken views of leading managers on the subject of injury prevention and has criticised Mauricio Pochettino, Pep Guardiola and Arsene Wenger.

The Dutchman has had coaching posts with the Holland, Russia, South Korea and Wales national teams, as well as Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester City.

In other Liverpool news, this young forward has signed his first professional contract with the club.
