Jamie Carragher tweeted an amusing remark to fellow Sky Sports pundit, Gary Neville during Manchester United’s defeat on Tuesday evening.

The Liverpool legend enjoyed United’s 2-1 loss against Fenerbahce in the Europa League and took the opportunity to rub it in for Neville.

Neville tweeted his support before the game and asked his former club to give him an entertaining performance but Carragher joked United had done so by conceding almost immediately after kick-off.

United suffered an early goal against the Turkish side as Moussa Sow netted an impressive overhead kick within the opening minute of the game.

Jeremain Lens doubled their opponents’ lead as United struggled to get going in their Europa League group match, despite a late attempted comeback from Wayne Rooney.

Fenerbahce are now unbeaten in their last eight European home games while United continue to struggle in the Premier League.

Jose Mourinho’s side are eight points off their Merseyside rivals after suffering a humiliating 4-0 loss against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last month.

They sit in eighth position in the league table and were delivered another blow as Paul Pogba limped off injured after just half an hour of their 2-1 defeat against Fenerbahce.

In other Liverpool news, fans have reacted on Twitter to fresh transfer speculation regarding Philippe Coutinho.
