Jamie Redknapp believes Adam Lallana’s incredible Liverpool form is down to the confidence bestowed in him by manager Jurgen Klopp.
The 28-year-old has been in magnificent form for the Merseyside giants, and will be looking to continue that on Monday night as the Reds go up against bitter rivals Everton at Goodison Park.
In his Sky Sports column, Redknapp revealed that manager Klopp has shown faith in the former Southampton star as Lallana goes from strength to strength.
“The big difference for him this season has been his confidence,” Redknapp said. “He has got a manager in Jurgen Klopp who really believes in him and insists that he gets into those areas to make and score goals.
“His overall game has not changed that much from last season, but scoring goals can make all the difference when you’re a player.”
England international Lallana has been integral to Liverpool’s title challenge this season as well as the Three Lions’ 2018 World Cup qualification phase.
Nine goals for club and country has seen him score against the likes of Arsenal, Spain and Leicester and will be hoping he can replicate that kind of form against the Toffees.
The Reds will be looking to continue a hugely impressive run of 12 unbeaten matches against Everton, with Ronald Koeman’s side last tasting victory against their Merseyside enemies more than six years ago.
Since his £25million move from the south coast in the summer of 2014, Lallana has scored a total of 19 goals during his 105 appearances for Liverpool while providing a further 19 goals in assists.
In other Liverpool news, Divock Origi is desperate to see the Reds secure victory after delivering this battle cry.
