John Hartson described Rangers as “totally inept” after their humiliating 5-1 defeat to Celtic.
Rangers suffered a humiliating hammering at the hands of their Old Firm rivals and have now slipped four points behind them in the league, having also played a game more.
Moussa Dembele grabbed the headlines for his hat-trick which consisted of goals with his left foot, right foot and head, as he ensured Celtic won the first meeting of the season between the city rivals in style.
The Rangers fans took to Twitter to tear into Philippe Senderos after he endured a nightmare debut by being sent off in the second-half.
Former Celtic striker Hartson has claimed on his personal Twitter account that his old team cruised to victory and were up against poor opposition.
Hartson previous predicted that Rangers would struggle on their return to the top-flight and that was certainly the case in Saturday’s match at Celtic Park.
Rangers forward Joe Garner did offer some hope for the visitors when he scored on the stroke of half-time to make the score 2-1.
However they were blown away by Celtic’s attacking prowess after the break and could not match their intensity all over the pitch.
Mark Warburton is still trying to find his best starting XI after a huge overhaul of players this summer.
One of the new signings Niko Kranjcar is yet to find his full fitness and adjust to Scottish football, lasting just 45 minutes before being substituted off.
Following the suspension that Senderos has picked up after his bookings it could be left to veteran defender Clint Hill to fill the void in the meantime.
