Celtic fans have expressed their shock on Twitter, after the Scottish Champions were reportedly in negotiations with 27-time Brazil international Hernanes.
The former Lazio star is set to leave Juventus after the Serie A champions brought in Bosnia international playmaker Miralem Pjanic for around £27.5million.
Juve’s number 11 has made just 23 appearances since joining Massimiliano Allegri’s side last summer, after playing second fiddle to Paul Pogba last year.
Fans cannot believe their eyes after seeing the Hoops had entered talks to sign Hernanes, with many believing the former Brazilian Footballer of the Year in a Celtic shirt way too good to be true.
Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Hernanes…. Surely no! What a signing that would be #Celtic

Juventus midfielder Hernanes would certainly light up a cold night in Motherwell but by all accounts he is Genoa bound HH

One fan is so adamant that the Hoops won’t be signing Hernanes before Wednesday’s 11pm deadline that he is willing to change his name from Sean to the name of centre-back Efe Ambrose.
If celtic sign hernanes ill change my name to efe. Get real man😂

The Celtic hysteria over their potential new signing is still in full flow, despite the former Inter Milan technician also reportedly interesting Serie A side Genoa on a season-long loan.
The Brazilian star has less than two years remaining on his contract with the Bianconeri, but is unlikely to feature this season on a regular basis as the likes of Claudio Marchisio, Stefano Sturaro and Mario Lemina keep him sidelined.
Celtic are looking to add Champions League quality to their squad as they prepare to face Barcelona, Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach in Group C.
In other Celtic transfer news, this winger has rejected a move to his old side in favour of fighting for a place at Parkhead.
