Harry Kane is confident Tottenham will be even better this season due to the team’s new signings and the experience of their end-of-season title collapse.

Mauricio Pochettino has added a new striker to his squad in Vincent Janssen from Ajax, while also bringing in former player Victor Wanyama from Southampton.

The club have allowed Grant Ward, Alex Pritchard, Dominic Ball and Federico Fazio to leave the club, but the quartet were barely part of the squad last season.

The White Hart Lane side suffered an end of season collapse which saw them finish in third place in 2015-16, but Kane has vowed that his teammates have learned from their mistakes.

“We want to be better and improve,” said the England international to ESPN.

“There are a lot of clubs who have bought a lot of players and felt like they needed to strengthen their squad. We have brought in a couple of really good signings who are going to make a difference this year.

“We are a team who have stuck together. We have been through it together and learned from that experience together. Hopefully we can push on this year and do even better.

“It was a disappointing end to what was a great season. It is something we have got to learn from.

“As players we know what we did wrong and what we have got to work on this year. Hopefully we can do that.”

England’s senior forward went to the Euros on the back end of a brilliant season at White Hart Lane, where he topped the Premier League scoring charts with 25 goals.

Kane will be aiming to recreate his form from last season and will get the opportunity to grab his first goal of the season against Crystal Palace next Saturday.

Spurs began the last campaign slowly with three consecutive draws against Stoke, Leicester and Everton, but still managed to mount a credible title bid against eventual champions Leicester.

Pochettino named Wanyama as the only debutant against Everton but did introduce his second summer signing Janssen in the second-half.

Gary Lineker has predicted that Spurs will win the Premier League this season and they will need to improve on their opening day result.
