Liverpool have made seven changes to their team for Tuesday’s EFL Cup clash against Derby.

Loris Karius has been handed his debut for the club as Jurgen Klopp’s omits more than half the side who starred in last Friday’s 2-1 Premier League win over Chelsea.

Simon Mignolet, Dejan Lovren, James Milner and Sadio Mane drop down to the substitute’s bench, while Adam Lallana, Georginio Wijnaldum and Daniel Sturridge are omitted from the squad.

Fit-again Roberto Firmino starts against the Championship club on Tuesday night, while there are also starts for Ragnar Klavan, Alberto Moreno, Lucas Leiva, Marko Grujic and Divock Origi.

Only four players who started at Stamford Bridge are retained in the starting XI, with Nathaniel Clyne, Jordan Henderson, Philippe Coutinho and Joel Matip keeping their places.

In other Liverpool team news, Danny Ings is named in the matchday squad for the first time this season after being a regular for the Under-23s side.
