Ronald Koeman has expressed his disappointment on Twitter after Everton were knocked out of the EFL Cup by Norwich on Tuesday night.
The Premier League outfit were beaten 2-0 by the Championship side, with goals from former Toffees forward Steven Naismith and Josh Murphy securing the win.
Everton registered 17 shots on goal, with six on target, as Koeman opted to play summer signing Enner Valencia up top and rest Romelu Lukaku.
Koeman took to his personal Twitter account where he expressed his disappointment at their performance, but ensured his players must continue to work hard.
“Disappointment tonight!” Koeman wrote on his personal Twitter account. “Not clinical in front of the goal! Keep working hard. Thanks to the fans for the support.”

The Merseyside club have started the Premier League campaign in excellent fettle by taking 13 points from a possible 15, as they sit in second place, two points behind leaders Manchester City.
Koeman’s side will now travel to Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth in the league on Saturday afternoon, as they will look to put the disappointments of Tuesday evening behind them.
