Tottenhem defender Kyle Walker believes that his team-mate Hugo Lloris is “top-class”.
Spurs recorded a goalless draw with Bournemouth on Saturday and maintained their unbeaten start to the Premier League, but have dropped down to fifth in the table.
Captain and first-choice goalkeeper Lloris played a major role in earning the club a point and pulled off several good saves.
The French international made a phenomenal block from Charlie Daniels in the first-half, when he managed to deflect a close-range shot on to the bar with his legs.
Lloris, 29, has established himself as the club’s number one goalkeeper and continues to impress at White Hart Lane.
Spurs defender Walker praised the performance of Lloris and believes he is delivering at a top level consistently.
“Full credit to Hugo, he’s a top-class goalkeeper and he shows it week in, week out,” Walker said, as quoted by the club’s official website. “He’s a great captain as well and it’s becoming normal to see that now!”
Spurs currently boast the best defensive record in the league, conceding just four goal from their opening nine games.
Lloris has played in seven of those games and missed a couple of league matches through injury, but his understudy Michel Vorm provided strong back-up.
He has now made 178 appearances for Spurs since he left French club Lyon in 2012.
In other Tottenham team news, the club’s supporters reacted to Dele Alli’s performance against Bournemouth.
