Leeds fans have pleaded with their club on Twitter to bring Exeter’s Ollie Watkins to Elland Road in the summer.

Watkins, 21, scored twice for his current side on Thursday evening to book Exeter’s place in the League Two play-off final against Blackpool, as the Grecians beat Carlisle 6-5 on aggregate.

Yorkshire Evening Post reporter Phil Hay revealed on his Twitter account earlier this month that Garry Monk’s side “do like” Watkins, who has shone for Exeter throughout the 2016-17 season.

Exeter’s number 14 is known for his blistering pace, eye for goal and ability to provide an assist, which has seen him have a hand in 29 goals during his 51 league and cup encounters this term.

Scoring 16 times himself, Watkins has also laid on a further 13 assists as Exeter finished fifth in England’s fourth tier of football.

Leeds fans watched Watkins score twice in the 3-2 victory on Thursday night, and urged their club to sign him up in the upcoming transfer window after showing just what he can do.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

With only six months remaining on his current deal, it remains to be seen if Leeds will move for the young striker in order to bolster their push towards Championship promotion.

In other Leeds transfer news, fans have also reacted to reported interest in this 30-goal striker.
