Erik Lamela has put Tottenham 1-0 ahead against Watford with a beautifully disguised finish.
The Argentine made the Hornets pay for a mix-up in midfield when he charged forward and calmly slotted the ball to the left of ex-Spurs goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.
Lamela fooled Gomes and the Watford backline by opening up his body and pretending to pass to Harry Kane before slotting his team ahead.
The strike after 17 minutes was Lamela’s third Premier League goal of the season and his eighth for Tottenham in all competitions in 2015-16.
It was a huge boost for Mauricio Pochettino’s team as they attempted to move from fourth in the Premier League up to third.
Spurs, who began the day on 32 points, will climb above Manchester City on goal difference if they beat in-form Watford, who have taken points off Chelsea and Liverpool in each of their last two matches.
