This is a good one…
So do you remember that Sam Allardyce chap? Yeah him…the one that used to manage England.
Turns out his own agent helped to set-up the killer meeting where it all went wrong.
And now his agent, Scott McGarvey, has finally spoken out.
Apparently the undercover reporters who trapped Big Sam offered agent McGarvey a £218,000-a-year job, a Range Rover and a company credit card to arrange the meeting! Not the worst little package in the world…
He’s said that the reporters started the whole process in June when Allardyce was still managing Sunderland and sounds pretty sad about the whole affair.
“It kills me, it’s the worst feeling in the world. I’ve got my own situation, but the real travesty is Sam.
“If he had lost his job at Crewe Alexandra, I would be gutted for him. But he’s lost his job as England manager, the job he built himself up for. For Sam to lose that job, because of this, honestly, it kills me. Kills me.”
Allardyce and McGarvey have been friends for years but after the incident the pair have only spoken through a third party.
The former England boss had originally been caught showing reporters how to get around third-party player ownership rules as well as mocking previous manager Roy Hodgson,
If you haven’t seen the sting video, it’s a must watch!
