Leeds midfielder Eunan O’Kane has missed training on Tuesday morning with the Republic of Ireland.
The 26-year-old skipped the session with Martin O’Neill’s squad ahead of their World Cup qualifier with Austria on Saturday.
Ireland manager O’Neill named 13 midfielders in his 28-man squad and is well stocked in that department, but Leeds supporters will be waiting anxiously to find out the extent of the injury.
The Mail reporter Amitai Winehouse has revealed that O’Kane was forced to miss training with a groin issue.
“Eunan O’Kane sat out Ireland training this morning with a groin problem,” Winehouse wrote on his personal Twitter account.
O’Kane has become one of the first names on the team sheet under Garry Monk at Elland since his summer arrival from Premier League outfit Bournemouth.
The central midfielder has made 11 appearances in all competitions this season and built a formidable partnership alongside Kalvin Phillips in the middle of the park.
He has played a starring role in the club’s recent success, which has seen them rise to sixth-placed in the table and sneak into the play-off places.
In other Leeds team news, Pontus Jansson has heaped praise on the club’s defender and identified his four main qualities.
