Leeds have been drawn at home against Norwich in the last 16 of the League Cup.

The Yorkshire giants will play their fellow Championship side at Elland Road in the week beginning 24 October after beating Blackburn in the third round of the competition on Tuesday night.

It is one of eight ties that will take place that week, as Garry Monk’s have avoided one of the Premier League big guns.

The eyecatching ties include Manchester United hosting Manchester City, Liverpool playing Tottenham at Anfield and Chelsea travelling to West Ham in a London derby.

Leeds have not been given a glamorous tie but will feel they have a good chance of securing a place in the quarter-finals of the League Cup.

The Yorkshire giants beat Blackburn 1-0 n Tuesday night as they secured a third consecutive win and eased the pressure on Monk, who faced questions over his future just six league games into his tenure after a 1-0 home defeat by Huddersfield left Leeds in the Championship bottom three.

But two victories over Blackburn either side of a 2-0 win at Cardiff have kick-started Leeds’ season.

In other Leeds news, Monk’s latest squad selection could spell the end of the careers of three players.
