PREVIEW By Tom Blackburn

Leeds are expected to start Chris Wood over Marcus Antonsson for the first game of the new Championship season.

Monk makes his competitive debut as Leeds manager on Sunday as the Whites travel to London to face Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink’s QPR, but questions remain on how they will line up.

Antonsson, 24, signed on at Elland Road this summer for £2million from Swedish outfit Kalmar FF, and scored two goals in his first start during an emphatic 3-0 win against Shamrock Rovers but looks set to play second fiddle behind Wood.

New signing Pablo Hernandez is set to miss out after announcing he is not fully fit, with Alex Mowatt likely to come into the number 10 role.

England international goalkeeper Green is set to replace Italian Marco Silvestri who has been told to train with the Under-21’s, while club captain Sol Bamba could lose out to new signing Kyle Bartley.

Leeds fans will be thankful to see Charlie Taylor is likely to start, after he handed in a transfer request earlier this summer which caused Premier League clubs to show interest.

Leeds are hopeful of signing Sunderland midfielder Liam Bridcutt although it is unlikely that that deal will be done in team for the Championship opener.

Garry Monk has been very active in the market this summer and is looking to continue his Elland Road revolution, as he aims to return the Yorkshire giants back to the top flight of football.

Monk has made seven senior signings so far, bringing in Green, Bartley, Matt Grimes, Hadi Sacko, Roofe, Antonsson and Hernandez.

In other Leeds news, their new signing has his say on a contract clause that has added years to his career.
