Pierre-Michel Lasogga led the line for a second consecutive Leeds United match in Tuesday night’s 2-0 win against Birmingham – and fans took to Twitter to rave about the club’s new striker.

The German, 25, did not get on the scoresheet against the Midlands club after a memorable debut last Saturday in which he netted twice in a 5-0 triumph.

But Lasogga created both of Leeds goals, forcing Samuel Saiz’s opener with a fierce volley after bundling a defender out of the way, and then led the counter-attack for the second, scored by Stuart Dallas.

The Elland Road faithful were delighted once again with the contribution of their new number nine:

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Lasogga joined the Yorkshire giants on deadline day on a season-long loan from Bundesliga club Hamburg.

He had slipped down the pecking order at the German club after scoring just two goals in 22 appearances last season.

In other Leeds United transfer news, Alvin Martin has made an astonishing claim about Christiansen’s team that fans will love.
