Pontus Jansson and Chris Wood have been named in the EFL Championship Team of the Season – and Leeds fans on Twitter are pleased for the duo.

Under the stewardship of Garry Monk, the defensive and attacking duo have been integral to the Whites producing promotion form.

Sweden international Jansson is currently on loan from Italian side Torino and his deal is set to be made permanent at the end of the campaign.

Here is Sky Sports’ official Twitter account announcing the EFL TOTS:

The hard-hitting centre-back has formed a magnificent partnership with Kyle Bartley at the heart of the club’s defence.

By contrast, New Zealand international Wood has scored the vital goals for the Yorkshire outfit, 24 goals from 36 matches, a tally which puts him top of the Championship scoring charts.

His presence and contribution to the team was proven when he scored a brace against automatic chasers Brighton at the weekend.

The Yorkshire faithful on Twitter congratulated their players for making the team as they were hoping they can continue their promotion charge.

One fan hailed their fantastic performances for Monk’s side and believes you cannot argue with their selection.

Furthermore, another supporter stated that Wood should be named Player of the Season, with teenage midfielder Ronaldo Vieira taking the Young Player of the Season award.

Overall, the Elland Road fan were pleased to see their players earning recognition for their performances on the field.

Eight games of the season remain and supporters will be hoping their team can maintain that play-off spot and possibly secure an automatic place.
