Kalvin Phillips has been selected to start in the Leeds line-up against Ipswich in the Saturday afternoon clash – and fans took to Twitter to suggest there were better options than the youngster.

This is the 20-year-old’s fourth start in all competitions in the new campaign.

He has 10 appearances for Garry Monk’s side as a whole and managed to grab a consolation goal in the club’s 3-1 defeat against Nottingham Forest.

However, Leeds fans weren’t too excited with his selection in the side and some suggested that Ronaldo Vieira should be in the team ahead of Phillips.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Phillips joined the Elland Road side in 2010 at the age of 14.

He made his debut against Wolves in 2015 and has made 22 appearances for the club overall.

The Yorkshire giants started the new season slowly under manager Garry Monk, but they have picked up form recently with three wins from their last three fixtures.

The Whites are currently sat in 15th place and they face a tough tie against Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich at Elland Road.

The Tractor Boys will be looking to push for a place in this season’s promotion play-off’s after just missing out last campaign.

In other Leeds team news, Andy Ritchie has claimed that Chris Wood is now answering his critics after scoring three goals in his last three matches.
