Pontus Jansson was selected in the starting line-up to take on Burton Albion at Elland Road, and fans on Twitter are pleased that he’s included in a strong line-up.
Defender Jansson was rested for the Whites’ last fixture, as they beat Norwich in a dramatic penalty shoot-out to progress through to the quarter-final stages of the EFL Cup on Tuesday night.
The on-loan Torino player has become a firm fan-favourite since joining the Elland Road outfit in the summer, and his playing style and personality have won over the Leeds faithful.
Fans hailed his inclusion to face Burton, and praised manager Garry Monk for fielding a strong and team.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Sweden international Jansson has made ten appearances in all competitions this term, including nine in the Championship.
He has formed a strong partnership with stand-in captain Kyle Bartley who is on loan from Swansea, at the heart of the club’s defence.
Jansson has helped Monk’s side keep three clean sheets this term, with the Yorkshire outfit not conceding a goal in four games in all competitions.
In other Leeds team news, manager Garry Monk has hailed this senior player and has claimed he has what it takes.
