Leeds defender Charlie Taylor has posted an Instagram image of himself in a Fleetwood kit ahead of the two sides meeting in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night.

The post of the left-back not in the famous white of Leeds might concern supporters who are still faced with the possibility of losing their star full-back.

The Yorkshire giants released a statement last week to confirm that a transfer request had been submitted by Taylor but said it had been rejected and the 22-year-old would not be sold this summer.

Taylor revealed on Instagram on Tuesday night that he was looking forward to being back at the club he played for in the 2013-14 season while on loan from Leeds.

The Mirror have claimed this summer that West Brom, West Ham and Middlesbrough are all interested in signing the £6million-rated defender, but new-boys Burnley are leading the race.

Leeds’ reigning Player of the Year has just 12 months remaining on his Elland Road deal and Cellino has admitted the player is not interested in renewing his contract with Monk’s side.

But the club appear determined to hang on to the academy graduate until at least the January window, which is when they sold his former team-mate Sam Byram earlier this year.

Taylor has firmly established himself as Leeds’ first-choice left-back and made 42 appearances for the Whites last season, chipping in with seven assists.

In other Leeds news, Massimo Cellino says he rejected an offer from a big name and has no plans to sell the club.
