Leeds newbie Pontus Jansson has expressed his passion on Twitter after the Yorkshire giants recorded a 2-1 win against rock-bottom Blackburn.
The 25-year-old played an integral part in the Championship victory on Tuesday night, that saw the Sweden international produce a solid display alongside fellow loanee Kyle Bartley.
The Torino loanee posted via his personal Twitter account that the result had been testament to the hard work put in by Garry Monk’s side.
The former Champions League side won the game in the 86th minute, as Kyle Bartley converted playmaker Alex Mowatt’s corner past Rovers’ goalkeeper Jason Steele.
Leeds had been in control and 1-0 up when they conceded in the 77th minute, with Blackburn’s Marvin Emnes scoring a fantastic effort from 22 yards out into the top-left corner of Rob Green’s goal.
Monk’s side had previously taken the lead thanks to a brilliant effort from Hadi Sacko, who beat Blackburn duo Corry Evans and Derrick Williams to pull back for substitute Chris Wood to convert.
The win for Leeds propels them up the Championship table after a dismal start to the campaign that has seen them already lose four times in seven games.
They move out of the relegation place into 17th place, while Blackburn remain rooted to the bottom of the table.
In other Leeds news, Twitter has reacted to Ireland international Eunan O’Kane’s debut performance.
