Leeds will face a tough challenge against Norwich this Saturday as the Canaries look to exact revenge after their penalty shootout defeat.

Alex Neil’s side suffered a heavy defeat after losing on penalties to Leeds in the EFL Cup and they could prove to be even harder opponents this time around.

Norwich will have added incentive as they travel to Elland Road, going into the game off the back of a heavy 5-0 defeat against Brighton, no doubt influenced by their tiring 120-minute battle against Leeds.

Garry Monk’s side are in bright form and are undefeated in their last four games, while the Canaries have not picked up a win in the same number of matches.

However, Norwich are still fourth in the Championship and have already proved their character this season.

After losing 3-0 to Birmingham at the end of August, they responded with a hard-fought 3-2 victory against Cardiff City in the Championship.

This kick-started a five-game winning streak that was only ended in a thrilling 4-3 defeat at league leaders Newcastle.

Norwich will not have forgotten the pain of losing out to Marco Silvestri and his Leeds teammates in a dramatic penalty shootout decider less than two weeks ago and Monk should expect a similar response from their plucky opponents.

Leeds shouldn’t find it hard to motivate themselves though, with the knowledge that a win could take them into the play-off spots and leave them just one point behind promotion rivals Norwich.

It might be too early in the season to talk about defining matches but this is a hugely important three points in the battle for promotion places.

In other Leeds news, Doukara has vowed his triumphant comeback was down to this senior figure.
