Sol Bamba credited a clear-the-air Leeds meeting with inspiring the team’s run of three consecutive wins.

The Championship club ended the weekend 13th in the table after a dramatic turnaround in the wake of their 4-0 thrashing at Brighton a fortnight ago.

Leeds skipper Bamba, who was as at fault as any player in the horror show at the Amex Stadium, scored the opening goal as Steve Evans’ side beat Blackburn 2-1 at Ewood Park last Saturday.

He echoed Evans, who spoke last week of the positive impact made by a “frank” training-ground discussion at Thorp Arch in the aftermath of the Brighton loss.

Bamba said: “The performance in Brighton was very bad. We had meeting between us to say that can’t happen, that we need to change.

“It was a good meeting because everything came out and obviously we’ve now performed very well. We need to look at ourselves when we don’t perform.

“We need to look at ourselves on the pitch but we had a good meeting and that was needed, definitely.”

In other Leeds news, the club are keen on turning Liam Bridcutt’s loan into a permanent move.
