Leeds are ready to make a six-figure offer for Dundee’s Greg Stewart, according to a report.

Stewart, 26, has been stalling on signing a new deal at Dundee after a wonderful season in which he grabbed nine goals in the Scottish Premiership and added an impressive 15 assists.

Leeds are on the look-out for some added quality in their bid for promotion next season and are seriously lacking in the winger department, with Steve Evans opting at several points in the final months of the season to play without a recognised wide man.

The Dundee Evening Telegraph claim that Leeds have found that quality in Stewart after sending scouts to watch him in the final games of Dundee’s season.

The Yorkshire scouts are believed to have returned a glowing report to Leeds after getting a close up look at Stewart and the club is now believed to be putting together a bid.

Stewart has entered the final year of his contract and has been nominated for the PFA Scottish Player of the Year for two years running.

The winger’s consistency has caught the eye of several clubs south of the border and Dundee are resigned to losing their star man.

However, Dundee will not allow Stewart to go cheap, regardless of his contract length, and are hoping to spark a bidding war with Rangers and Hearts who also showing interest.

Rangers are said to have tabled their move for Stewart as they chase more high-profile targets such as Niko Kranjcar , giving Leeds the opportunity to tie up a deal quickly.

However, with the managerial saga at Elland Road yet to reach its conclusion, it is unlikely a move could be finalised before Massimo Cellino decides on his next coach.
