Leeds United face competition from several German, Turkish and Belgian sides for Orlando City striker Cyle Larin, Football Insider sources understand.
Leeds have expressed an interest in Larin and are hoping to lure the Canada international to England when the transfer window reopens in January.
A United source has told Football Insider the club are still in the market for striking reinforcements after selling last season’s top scorer Chris Wood to Burnley last month.
The Championship club have signed four forwards this summer but three of the 2016-17 front men have departed and senior spearhead Pierre-Michel Lasogga is only at the club on a season-long loan.
Leeds scouts have been keeping tabs on Larin for some time with the striker catching the eye in Major League Soccer this season.
The 22-year-old has scored an impressive 11 goals in 24 appearances for Orlando City so far this campaign and Larin is regarded as one the best prospects in MLS.
However, Leeds could face a battle to land Larin with several Bundesliga sides Super Lig outfits and Belgian Jupiler League clubs ready to make a move for the forward in the New Year.
Orlando City are in no rush to sell Larin, but Football Insider has learned the player would be interested in a move to Europe if he receives the right offer.
