Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana hailed England’s “great night” on Instagram as they beat Scotland 3-0 at Wembley in a World Cup qualifier on Friday night.
The 28-year-old headed in the second goal as his club teammate Daniel Sturridge and Chelsea defender Gary Cahill were the other players to get on the scoresheet.
Lallana was praised for his display against the Scots which earned him the man-of-the-match award.
After the game the Reds attacking midfielder posted this message on his personal Instagram account:
The Southampton academy product has represented his country on 27 occasions, scoring two goals and supplying three assists.
On the domestic front he has been in fine form for Jurgen Klopp’s side, who top the Premier League table with 26 points from 11 games.
Lallana has been a pivotal part of that success as his aggressive style and high energy has contributed to the Reds scoring 30 league goals.
The England international has made 12 Premier League and EFL Cup appearances this term, scoring on three occasions and assisting five.
After the international break he will take on his former club Southampton at St Mary’s as Liverpool look to maintain their winning form.
