Sadio Mane has been rushed to hospital after suffering a shoulder injury in training, according to a report.
The Express claim that the forward sustained the damage after a collision during a team training session at Melwood on Wednesday morning and that Mane left the training base with club physios.
He was taken to the Spire Liverpool Hospital and the report says that the Reds medical team are now awaiting the results of a scan to ascertain the extent of the problem.
The Mail report that Mane may have dislocated his shoulder in what would be a huge injury blow to the Merseysiders.
The former Southampton star got off to the perfect start to his Liverpool career on Sunday when he scored a sensational solo goal in Liverpool’s 4-3 victory over Arsenal at Emirates Stadium.
The Senegal international became the second most-expensive player in the club’s history when he moved from Southampton for £34million during the transfer window.
He now falls between the names of Andy Carroll and Christian Benteke, who moved to the club in £35million and £32.5million deals respectively.
However, Liverpool fans and Mane himself will be hoping to the Senegalese winger has a more illustrious career at Anfield than the striking duo.
Mane attracted many suitors this summer, including major rivals Manchester United after playing a key role on the south coast last season.
He starred in 43 encounters, scoring 15 goals and providing nine assists, as he helped the Saints achieve a sixth placed finish and qualify for the new campaign’s Europa League.
