Liverpool have been named as the fittest team in the Premier League this season, according to a report.

The Sun claim that the Reds top the distance covered chart after four games this term having traveled 464.8 kilometres as a team.

The Anfield outfit are closely followed by Premier League leaders Manchester City (457.8k), who have made the perfect start to their domestic campaign this season with four wins from four games.

Tottenham, Burnley and Arsenal make up the top five while Sunderland and Manchester United have been named as the top-flight teams who cover the least ground.

Jurgen Klopp’s side also make up three of the top four places on the individual distances covered table so far this season.

Jordan Henderson (48k), Roberto Firmino (46.9k) and Adam Lallana (46.5k) sit behind Burnley’s George Boyd who has run a staggering 49.6K in four matches is his sides domestic campaign so far.

The Reds have been reinvigorated under Klopp since the German boss took the helm at Anflield in October last year.

Klopp has developed his side into a high-octane attacking force who press high up the field.

Liverpool are now one of the fittest sides in the Premier League and will be on the hunt for trophies this season after making a number of big-money signings this summer.

Sadio Mane and Georginio Wijnaldum arrived in Merseyside for £35million and £23million respectively along with Loris Karius, Ragnar Klavan, Joel Matip and Alex Manninger in the transfer window.
