Sergi Canos is set to quit Liverpool as Sadio Mane arrives to put the finishing touches to his transfer from Southampton.
The Senegal winger is set to undergo a Liverpool medical on Monday after the club’s £30million bid was accepted by Southampton.
A deal is now likely to be tied up within days and Mane will be imminently be confirmed as the third most expensive signing in the club’s history after Andy Carroll and Christian Benteke.
But Liverpool appear ready to cash in on attacking midfielder Canos following a contract stand-off with the emerging Spaniard.
The Liverpool Echo claim Canos and his representatives have been locked in a stand-off over his wages with the club.
The 19-year-old, who joined the Merseysiders from Barcelona in 2013, is said to be demanding wages of around £10,000 a week, but Liverpool are reluctant to meet his demands.
Canos spent the recently completed domestic season on loan at Brentford and was a key player for the team, scoring on seven occasions while assisting fives times in 38 appearances.
Jurgen Klopp gave him his first Liverpool appearances in their last league game of the season against West Brom.
Mane will become Liverpool’s fourth signing over the summer after Joel Matip (free from Schalke), Marko Grujic, whose £5m switch from Red Star Belgrade was agreed in January, and goalkeeper Loris Karius from Mainz.
In other Liverpool transfer news, the Merseysiders have tabled a £7million bid for a Premier League wonderkid.
