Liverpool face a tough battle on their hands to sign forward Jese Rodriguez amid new interest from Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report.

The Real Madrid star has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu with his contract just 12 months away from expiring.

Spanish radio station Marca have now reported that PSG could make a move for Jese, who has rejected manager Zinedine Zidane’s advances over a new deal.

The Sun had claimed on Monday that the 23-year-old was interesting Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, after Marca had previously reported that Jese was set to leave.

Despite having a good working relationship with Galacticos manager Zidane, Jese has been advised to build a career away from Madrid where he would be likely to remain on the bench.

The former Huracan trainee has fallen down the pecking order in Madrid after the Galacticos exercised their buy-back clause to sign Juventus striker Alvaro Morata for around £25million.

Real’s number 20 is in the last year of his four-year deal that he signed back in 2013, and could be available in a cut-price deal as both Klopp and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger look to give themselves more options in the attacking department.

Jese made 28 La Liga appearances last term, though he started only seven matches. He found the back of the net five times, as well as scoring one in Europe during Real’s Champions League tie against Roma.

In other Liverpool transfer news, Klopp has decided on a new way to solve his left-back dilemma after missing out on Ben Chilwell.
