Dejan Lovren believes that Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho is currently the best in the Premier League.
The pair have both been regular starters for the Reds this season and have helped the club become genuine title contenders.
Liverpool are currently level on points with league leaders Manchester City after completing a dramatic 4-2 away victory against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Coutinho, 24, starred in the game with two assists and has become a crucial part of the club’s impressive attacking style this season.
Liverpool defender Lovren feels that Coutinho has been in phenomenal form this campaign and is currently the best player in England.
“In my opinion he’s the best player in the league at the moment,” Lovren said, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account. “I have the pleasure and the honour to play with this guy. He wasn’t just outstanding against Palace, he’s been like that all year.”
Coutinho has been a fan favourite since he arrived at Anfield in 2013 from Inter Milan.
The Brazilian midfielder has now made 156 appearances for the Reds, scoring 33 goals and supplying 33 assists.
The Merseyside club have transformed into an attacking side under manager Jurgen Klopp and Coutinho has been key to the success.
He is currently enjoying a great spell in his first 11 appearances this campaign, scoring five goals and supplying five assists.
