Summer recruits Joel Matip and Sadio Mane have been named in FourFourTwo’s Premier League “signings XI”.

The duo have hit the ground running following their moves to Merseyside, with former Southampton star Mane being named Player of the Month for August by the Reds.

Football magazine FourFourTwo have announced their team of the best signings of the summer from the Premier League on their official Twitter account, with Matip and Mane being included.

Mane is set to be unavailable for Liverpool when the African Cup of Nations takes place in the new year.

However, Cameroon international Matip, who signed for the Reds on a free transfer this summer, has reportedly exiled himself from international duty and could stay in the winter.

Matip, 25, is considered first choice at Anfield, after Dejan Lovren replaced Ragnar Klavan to partner Matip on Saturday against Swansea.

Club-record signing Mane, who signed for Klopp’s side in a £35million move has already got himself on the scoresheet three times this season. The Senegal star scored his first in the EFL Cup against Burton, before finding the net against Leicester and Hull.

The duo join the likes of Victor Wanyama, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Steve Mandanda, but there is no place for Paul Pogba, John Stones or Chelsea duo N’Golo Kante and David Luiz.
