Liverpool are interested in signing Geoffrey Kondogbia in January, according to a report.

Italian outlet Web Calico claim that the Reds want to sign the midfielder on loan until the end of the season.

The report details that Liverpool would pay his full wages and that Inter Milan are prepared to offload him in January.

Kondogbia, 23, has been on the fringes of the Inter squad this season and played in just four games.

The Frenchman moved to the Italian giants in 2015 from Monaco but has struggled to live up to his £25million price tag.

The central midfielder has made just 34 appearances for the club and scored one goal in the process.

Kondogbia was an unused substitute in Inter’s 2-1 defeat to Roma last weekend and has fallen behind Gary Medel, Joao Mario and Ever Banega in the pecking order.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has enjoyed a positive start to the new season and has settled on a midfield trio of Adam Lallana, Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson.

The Reds are now expected to challenge for the title and Klopp may need some back-up in the shape of Kondogbia.
