Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has been nominated for the BBC African Footballer of the Year award, and fans on Twitter have backed him to win.
BBC Sport have named the 24-year-old Senegal international on a five-man shortlist where he will be competing for the top prize amongst other high quality contenders.
Premier League trio Riyad Mahrez, Yaya Toure, and Andre Ayew have been named on the list, alongside Borussia Mönchengladbach striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Supporters have urged fellow fans to vote for the pacy attacker as he faces a difficult task to land the top prize.
Additionally, Reds fans have congratulated Mane for being nominated as one person even joked that he should be named the Ballon d’Or winner.

The former Bundesliga player made a £34 million summer transfer from Southampton to Liverpool, which made him the most expensive African player in history.
Mane has scored six goals and provided four assists in 11 Premier League and EFL Cup fixtures this season, having scored 11 in the league during the previous campaign.
