Jurgen Klopp caused a stir among Liverpool fans on Twitter after making a joke about Dutch fitness guru Raymond Verheijen in his press conference on Friday afternoon.

Dutch fitness guru Raymond Verheijen has claimed in a series of Twitter posts in recent weeks that Klopp’s methods are successful on the pitch but they lead to his players constantly breaking down.

This came after Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne picked up injuries against Swansea prior to the international break.

Klopp showed he was aware of Verheijen’s criticism at his press conference on Friday afternoon ahead of Monday night’s highly anticipated clash against Manchester United.

Referring to the glut of fixtures over the festive period, Klopp was quoted by the Telegraph’s Chris Bascombe on his personal Twitter account as saying “some Dutch guy will say things” if injuries accumulate.

Football Insider reported Verheijen’s comments last week as he claimed the Liverpool manager was ‘”great but his methods were flawed”.

Klopp caused quite a stir among Liverpool fans on social media by singling out the Dutchman.
