Jose Mourinho has criticised the media’s attention on Liverpool – and the club’s supporters mocked the Manchester United manager on Twitter.

The Merseyside club were held to a 0-0 draw at Anfield on Monday night in their Premier League meeting with United.

Mourinho set up his side to be resilient in defence and they shut out a team that have been in great attacking form at the start of the season.

The former Chelsea boss delivered a scathing attack on Liverpool after the game and believes they are overhyped by the media.

“They are a good team. They are not the last wonder of the world like you (media) like to say they are,” Jose Mourinho said in his post-match interviews.

Liverpool fans reacted hilariously to Mourinho’s comments and believe he is jealous of the Merseyside club.

The result leaves Liverpool fourth in the Premier League table and two points adrift of league leaders Manchester City.

The Reds’ momentum may have been halted by United but they West Brom, Crystal Palace and Watford in their next three league matches.

Klopp’s side have been labelled as potential title contenders this season after a strong start, but Mourinho disagrees with the amount of attention surrounding the Merseyside club.

Liverpool will now hope to build upon their strong start to the season and their next meeting with United in January promises to be a lively affair following Mourinho’s comments.
