Roberto Firmino provided an assist as Liverpool beat West Brom 2-1 at Anfield on Saturday evening- and fans on Twitter hailed his performance throughout the game.

Forward Sadio Mane neatly converted a Firmino cross after 20 minutes to give the hosts the lead, before Phillippe Coutinho added a second just before half-time.

Tony Pulis’ side did claw one back with ten minutes to go, when Gareth McAuley punished Liverpool’s poor defending, but Jurgen Klopp’s side held on for all three points.

One supporter felt it was a toss up between centre-back Joel Matip or Firmino, as to who produced the man-of-the-match display.

Additionally, another fan praised the quartet of Firmino, Coutinho, Mane and Adam Lallana by stating they are the best attacking partnership in the Premier League.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Brazilian Firmino has scored three goals and provided three assists in eight league appearances for the Merseyside club this term.

The Reds are second in the league with 20 points from nine games joint with Arsenal who are first, but both teams can be leapfrogged by Manchester City, if they beat the Saints on Sunday.

Klopp’s side will now host Tottenham in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night, before travelling to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace next Saturday.

In other Liverpool team news, supporters on Twitter were ecstatic with Sadio Mane’s performance against West Brom at Anfield.
