Sadio Mane has won the PFA Fans’ Premier League Player of the Month award for August and September – and the Liverpool supporters applauded their star player on Twitter.
Sky Sports ran the PFA fans poll in which nearly 78,000 voted and the Liverpool attacker won the award comfortably with 38,199.
The 24-year-old beat off competition from second-placed Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City and Watford’s Etienne Capoue in third.
Mane has been in remarkable form this season and scored three goals in just five league games.
The attacker has become a crucial part of Jurgen Klopp’s side since his arrival from Southampton in the summer.
He missed the club’s only league defeat of the season against Burnley with a shoulder injury, highlighting what a key figure he is in the team.
Mane has helped form a deadly Liverpool attack alongside Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino, with the trio fluent and full of pace.
Liverpool have netted an incredible 24 goals in eight matches across all competitions this season.
Klopp decided to move for Mane in the transfer window and he became the latest player to leave Southampton for the Reds.
The Senegalese international enjoyed a successful spell at Southampton, scoring 25 goals and supplying 14 assists in just 75 appearances.
The Liverpool supporters were full of praise for Mane on Twitter and believe he has a great future at Anfield.
