Mamadou Sakho posted a controversial rant on Snapchat in the early hours of Saturday morning – and Liverpool fans on Twitter have not looked on the incident well.

Sakho, 26, has not featured for the Reds this season after being sent home by Jurgen Klopp while the club were in the U.S on a pre-season tour.

He was also handed a drugs ban towards the end of the last campaign, which saw him miss Liverpool’s Europa League final, as well as the summer’s European Championships in his home nation.

The defender took to Snapchat in the early hours of the day that Liverpool face Hull and bemoaned his treatment by the club, as reported by Liverpool Echo’s James Pearce on his personal Twitter account.

The Snapchat was not received well by Reds fans on social media, with many thinking it was the wrong way to go about things.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Sakho made 34 appearances for the Merseysider’s last season, scoring two goals.

He moved to Anfield in 2013 from cash-rich Paris-Saint Germain in an £18million deal and he has four years left on his current deal.

However, Klopp added defenders Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan to his side in the summer, moving Sakho down the club’s pecking order.

In other Liverpool team news, Loris Karius was told at training on Friday that he has won the battle to be Klopp’s No1.
