Liverpool target Moussa Sissoko starred for France in their Euro 2016 semi-final against Germany playing the full 90 minutes in their 2-0 win – and fans of the Merseyside club were left impressed with his performance.
Sissoko is contracted to the Toon until June 2019 but could be tempted by an immediate move back to the Premier League with Liverpool rather than fighting for promotion in the Championship next season.
Jurgen Klopp has already made several additions to his squad this summer having already completed the signings of Sadio Mane, Loris Karius, Marko Grujic and Joel Matip.
The 26-year-old scored just one goal and notched eight assists as his side finished 18th in the Premier League.
However, Liverpool fans took to Twitter to express their delight over the quality of Sissoko’s performance.
Here are a selection of their messages:
Is Moussa Sissoko is properly motivated he's a great player! Has bags of talent, just another player who lacks the mentality! #LFC

No complaints here if #LFC did sign Sissoko.
Good utility player and a lump too.
Wenger may have other ideas though.

Sissoko has also attracted interest from Tottenham and Arsenal, but it’s clear that fans of the Reds want their former manager Rafael Benitez to strike a deal with the Anfield club.
In other Liverpool news, Reds target Mahmoud Dahoud insists he is not thinking about leaving Borussia Monchengladbach.
