Daniel Sturridge came on as a substitute in Liverpool’s 2-1 win against Swansea on Saturday – and fans criticised the striker’s performance on Twitter.

Sturridge, 27, again found himself on the bench for the Reds but was brought on after 24 minutes for the injured Adam Lallana.

The Merseyside outfit won the game 2-1 after a Roberto Firmino strike canceled out Leroy Fer’s opener before James Milner converted a late penalty to win the game.

Supporters on Twitter were frustrated with their striker’s display, with one fan claiming Sturridge didn’t seem to care anymore.

Here is a selection of the messages on Twitter:

The result leaves Liverpool in second place in the league and represents their fifth win in their last five matches.

The decision to omit Sturridge from the starting XI will interest West Ham supporters after the striker was linked to the east London outfit this week.

Reds fans will be happy with their sides start to the season after beating Leicester, Arsenal and Chelsea this season.

Supporters will be thankful for the late winner having already dropped vital points to Burnley on the road this season.

In other Liverpool news, owner John Henry has suggested that fan protests over ticket prices has put further Anfield expansion at risk  – and fans have reacted with anger to the news on Twitter.
