Alberto Moreno delivered a below-par display against Arsenal in Liverpool’s 4-3 win in their Premier League opener on Sunday – and supporters took to Twitter to heckle the left-back.
The Spanish defender gave away a penalty in the first half after being caught out of position and recklessly upending Gunners’ forward Theo Walcott.
Moreno was then caught out of position in the build-up to the opening goal that was emphatically finished minutes later by Walcott.
The full-back has built up a reputation for being better at going forward rather than defending and bore th brunt of supporters’ dissatisfaction following the Reds’ 3-1 defeat against Sevilla in last campaign’s Europa League final.
The north London club surrendered their advantage following two goals from Philippe Coutinho, a cool finish from Adam Lallana and a solo effort from Sadio Mane, as two late efforts from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Calum Chambers proved in vain.
However, fans of the Merseysiders were still left unimpressed with the performance of their full-back.
Fans took to Twitter to share their views on the defender’s display:

Moreno joined Liverpool in 2014 from Sevilla and has played in 91 fixtures for the Reds in all competitions.
Manager Klopp has so far persisted with the Spaniard, but he was reportedly linked with Leicester’s young full-back Ben Chilwell earlier in the summer.
In other Liverpool team news, Jurgen Klopp had a dig at Arsene Wenger ahead of their Premier League clash.
