Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ojie Ejaria are set to play for Liverpool against Tottenham in Tuesday’s League Cup showdown – and fans on Twitter expressed their excitement at seeing the duo in action.
Paul Joyce, the Merseyside correspondent of the Express, claims in a report that the Anfield academy products will be in the matchday squad for Tuesday’s clash at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp is expected to make a number of changes to the side which defeated West Brom 2-1 on Saturday as they host Spurs at Anfield in the mid-week clash.
The academy duo both featured regularly for the club during the pre-season campaign and have been training with the first team squad on a number of occasions at Melwood.
Aexander-Arnold is yet to make his first team debut but was named in the matchday squad for Liverpool’s opening Premier League fixture against Arsenal.
The 19 year-old is a versatile operator who can play in central midfield or as a right-back, where he has been deployed by Jurgen Klopp.
Fans are looking forward to seeing Alexander-Arnold in harness with Ovie Ejaria, who was named in the squad for the Premier League clash against Chelsea and has already made his first team debut in the league cup win against Derby.
