Liverpool fans want Jurgen Klopp to bring in a new signing to replace Sadio Mane when he leaves for international duty in January, according to a Twitter poll.

The Senegal international is expected to join up with his national side for the Africa Cup of Nations in 2017 and Liverpool have a few options available.

Sheyi Ojo and Divock Origi could both replace Mane, with the duo capable of playing as wingers or in any role across the front three beside Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino.

However, 48% of Liverpool fans have revealed they hope to see a new signing brought in January rather than entrusting the role to either Origi or Ojo.

Origi was the preferred second option, with 34 per cent happy to see the Belgian as Mane’s replacement but only 18 per cent were confident Ojo had it in him at this early stage of his career.

There were one or two calls for Daniel Sturridge to replace Mane too, despite speculation surrounding his future after he has struggled to get regular first team action this season.

The striker has made just four Premier League starts since the beginning of the campaign and he is still searching for his first league goal although he has netted four times in the League Cup.

Ojo, 19, has been out of action since the summer after suffering from a back fracture but he confirmed his rehabilitation was fully complete on Monday.

The youngster made eight Premier League appearances after he was recalled from his loan spell at Wolves in January 2016 and showed a lot of promise.

Origi became an important figure last season too – scoring 10 goals in 33 appearances in all competitions.
