Liverpool will attempt to sign a new goalkeeper this summer amid growing doubts over the future of Simon Mignolet, Football Insider sources understand.
The Merseysiders are in the market for a senior shot-stopper who can compete with Mignolet to be the established No1 at Anfield.
Brad Jones is expected to leave the club this summer when his contract expires after five years deputising Mignolet and his predecessor Pepe Reina.
Mignolet has been the undisputed No1 since joining from Sunderland two years ago and, following a mid-season wobble when he lost his place, the Belgian has cemented his status as the first-choice ‘keeper.
However, Football Insider understands that Liverpool staff are not convinced by the 27-year-old and are looking at bringing in a proven keeper with Premier League experience.
