Liverpool have been joined in the race by Paris Saint-Germain to sign 17 year-old sensation Alexander Isak, according to the latest reports.
TalkSPORT claim the French champions are ready to open talks with Swedish side AIK despite reported interest from Liverpool and Manchester United.
The 17 year-old has been dubbed as the next Zlatan Ibrahimovic and possesses similar qualities to his Swede compatriot and it is believed that is why several clubs are interested in signing him.
The teenager has scored ten goals in 24 appearances for AIK’s first team this season and he has already attracted attention from Juventus but the Italians are set to hold out before making a bid.
PSG are expected to land the first offer as there has yet to be any initial attempts from Liverpool or their Premier League rivals, Manchester United.
The Swedish outfit are said to value Isak at £13.8 million according to the report but PSG could test them with a generous £8.6 million bid.
It is believed a bid from the French club may tempt the two Premier League sides into launching a bid of their own – especially seeing as Liverpool will lose Sadio Mane in January as he goes on international duty in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Senegalese will be the Reds’ second striker the team have lost this season after Danny Ings picked up another major knee injury just a few weeks ago.
In other Liverpool transfer news, Barcelona are believed to have increased their interest in the Reds’ play-maker and fans have reacted with concern on Twitter.
