Liverpool outcast Mario Balotelli could have his contract terminated with the club, according to a report.

The forward has been omitted from the squad for Friday’s pre-season encounter against Tranmere Rovers, further fuelling rumours that he has no future at Anfield.

The Express report that Liverpool are likely to send the 25-year-old back out on-loan, or failing that terminate his contract.

The Italian striker returned to the Merseyside club for pre-season, however just two years after his £16million arrival his time may be coming to an end.

He spent last season at AC Milan and has also played for other top clubs Inter Milan and Manchester City in his career so far. The forward has also collected three Serie A titles and a Premier League medal with City in the 2011-12 season.

Balotelli does posses a good level of Internation pedigree having made over 30 caps for Italy, however he was not a part of Antonio Conte’s squad for Euro 2016.

Italian club Sampdoria had reportedly showed an interest in Balotelli and Liverpool fans reacted to his potential departure on Twitter.

For Liverpool’s new signings Loris Karius, Joel Matip and Sadio Mane, they are all set to feature in the Tranmere friendly.

In other Liverpool transfer news, they are set to make £100million as Jurgen Klopp prepares to axe 11 stars.
