Liverpool are ready to bid £14million for Danny Drinkwater after Jurgen Klopp was converted into his biggest fan this campaign, according to a report.

Drinkwater, 26, has flourished in the centre of Leicester’s midfield this season and helped the Foxes to the most unlikeliest of Premier League titles.

The Mirror claim Drinkwater’s performances have caught the eye of Klopp, who has made him a top priority this summer.

The Englishman has enjoyed a remarkable year on the international stage as well at club level after he made his debut for his country in March and has been included in the 26-man provisional squad for the upcoming summer European Championships.

It could be a double Leicester swoop for Liverpool as they look to capture the signature of promising left-back Ben Chilwell.

It is said that the 19-year-old is keen to make a move to Anfield even though there is also strong interest from Arsenal.

A Liverpool recruitment source has told Football Insider that Chilwell is on a shortlist of potential new left-backs that also includes teenager Celtic’s Kieran Tierney, Lorient’s Raphael Guerreiro, PSV Eindhoven’s Jetro Willems and Cologne’s Jonas Hector.

A bid of £5million plus £2million add-ons was rejected by Arsenal for Chilwell in January and it is thought any offer would have to be an improvement on that figure.

Drinkwater’s pricetag is considerably higher at £14million, with the midfielder signing a new four-year deal in 2014.

Leicester will resist any move for their core group of players, but Drinkwater is reportedly open to a move to a big club.
