Divock Origi bagged two goals in the space of 20 minutes against Stoke on Sunday – and Liverpool fans were drooling over their Belgian striker.
The 20-year-old now has three strikes in just two games for Liverpool after scoring the vital away goal against Borussia Dortmund on Thursday night.
Origi was selected ahead of Daniel Sturridge in that match and then came on at half-time on Sunday to outshine his fellow forward again with a wonderful display.
A simple header followed soon afterwards by a curling cross/shot that found the bottom corner of the Stoke net ended a perfect week for Origi in front of the Anfield crowd.
Liverpool have a huge game ahead of them on Thursday in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final against Dortmund and Reds supporters reacted with disbelief and joy at Origi’s sudden explosion of form.
With Sturridge also on the scoresheet and slowly returning to form, this post really summed up the reaction from the delighted Liverpool supporters.
In other Liverpool news, Alberto Moreno’s amazing effort was met by utter shock on Twitter.
